Mannatech Inc. said Monday it has instituted several initiatives related to the sales and marketing activities of its sales associates. The Coppell-based company was sued earlier this month by the Texas Attorney General, who accused Mannatech (NASDAQ: MTEX) of illegally marketing and selling its dietary supplements "as a way to cure, mitigate, treat or prevent diseases, illnesses or serious conditions."
Mannatech said it is instituting several initiatives and has hired five full-time employees to help support the initiatives.
Mannatech said its associates will immediately stop using marketing materials that link the benefits of its products with any particular disease.
