With a 2009 sales figure of $178.4 million, a well known fragrance company that goes by the name of Scentsy has acquired the 64th slot on a Global list of the top 100 direct selling companies in the world, which is compiled annually by Direct Selling News (DSN). DSN is the official publication of the Direct Selling Association, and is generally considered one of the most comprehensive reports in the industry. Listed companies range from annual sales of over $10 billion for first place entry to roughly $67 million for the one hundredth place entry. “This ranking validates the tremendous growth Scentsy has experienced, but our success is merely a result of passionate customers and party consultants, and an outstanding corporate team. Scentsy began operations in 2004 with its wickless candles that offer an alternative to the standard open flame archetype. The company's record highs remained strong throughout 2009 as customers saw the new product as a safer option. Last year Scentsy was recognized by receiving the Rising Star Award of the Direct Selling Association.
