Rodan and Fields was founded by Stanford University trained dermatologists, Dr. Katie Rodan and Dr. Kathy Fields. Doctors Rodan and Fields recognized that dermatologist treatment for many of the most common skin concerns was not available to most people. When the doctors created their new Rodan and Fields skincare products to extend their vision of bringing dermatology-based skin treatment to everyone, they almost immediately found themselves with a leading dermatologist brand in top tier department stores. They quickly realized their vision could never be fully realized when kept under glass. In an unprecedented move, Rodan and Fields became the first prestige skincare line to leave the department store for the world of direct selling.
