FamilyIQ Overview
FamilyIQ no longer appears to be active as a direct sales company.
FamilyIQ remains active as a family-education and online-course company, but its former multilevel marketing opportunity is no longer promoted. The current website sells family skill-building programs directly to treatment providers, employers, wellness programs and the public, without an identifiable IBO enrollment program or MLM compensation plan.
Original Npros business profile for FamilyIQ, preserved below for archival purposes:
FamilyIQ was founded in 2001 by Mark Hobbins and was originally based in Rancho Santa Margarita, California. The company developed online educational tools intended to strengthen parenting, communication and family relationships. Its programs have been used by therapists, treatment organizations, employers and wellness programs, and the company states that it has operated for more than 20 years.
The company's educational products included online courses, family and personal assessments, audio programs, activities, workshops, seminars and parent-coaching resources. FamilyIQ also offered a Certified Parent Coaching program that trained participants as both professional coaches and parent coaches. Certified coaches received access to proprietary courses, assessments and educational materials that could be used with clients.
Around 2010 and 2011, FamilyIQ added a multilevel direct-selling opportunity promoted through independent business owners. The program offered retail commissions on educational products, fast-start bonuses and residual commissions through a nine-level unilevel organization. Its principal enrollment package, called the Family Builder Package, was marketed at approximately $1,495, and promotional materials advertised a $1,000 upfront commission for qualifying package sales. FamilyIQ also introduced financing that allowed new participants to enter with a $200 down payment.
Rod Stinson and Terry Sauerbier promoted the FamilyIQ opportunity through an automated webinar and lead-generation system during 2011. Their marketing emphasized large upfront commissions and recurring income from purchases made through nine levels of an IBO organization. The surviving materials document an aggressive MLM launch, but the current FamilyIQ website no longer offers independent-business-owner enrollment, replicated distributor websites or a compensation plan.
FamilyIQ continues to offer courses addressing active listening, conflict resolution, behavioral contracting, parental teamwork and other family-development topics.
