Original Npros business profile for gibLine, preserved below for archival purposes:
gibLine was the revenue-sharing and network-marketing component of GibLink, an online social and business-networking community for entrepreneurs and small businesses. GibLink launched in October 2007 and advertised members in more than 160 countries. Members received online storefronts through which they could market internet services, including domain registration, website hosting, email accounts, live-chat systems, ecommerce websites, site-building tools and dedicated servers. The company reported sharing more than $5 million with members before introducing a revised platform and compensation program in May 2008.
The compensation system was called the gibLine Straight Line Revenue Sharing Program. Participants paid recurring membership fees and received positions, called "pods," in a time-stamped progression system. Historical promotions offered a Basic membership for $50 quarterly and a Pro membership for $150 quarterly. Members were paid as additional positions entered the line and could receive matching bonuses on personally sponsored participants. Although GibLink also sold internet services, the surviving compensation materials placed substantial emphasis on paid membership positions and revenue funded by later participants. The program disappeared without a documented acquisition or formal closure announcement.
