Better Business Bureau

iJango was in the news over the summer of 2009 relating to their Better Business Bureau review. The iJango BBB review uses consumer information and the length of time that a company has been in business as a partial basis for their ratings. Other factors in BBB ratings include how long issues take to resolve, and any concerns the BBB may have with the industry they are reviewing.

Opponents of the BBB state that their grading practices are unfair and biased. In the case of the iJango BBB review, the BBB report states that iJango seems to be a pyramid scheme. Additionally, the iJango BBB review states that of the 22 complaints received in 36 months, the majority were resolved.

iJango states that they are selling a product, as well as recruiting salespeople to sell that product, and that the sales are how they make their income. In an interview with the BBB, Rayner Smith, CEO said that iJango pays for recruiting. This statement in part also became a basis for the iJango BBB rating.
