Maakoa was a Utah-based health and wellness network marketing company founded in 2009 by Bruce Davis and David Simpson. The company officially entered the market that year and operated initially from Orem before later being listed at a Lehi, Utah address. Maakoa attracted attention quickly within Utah's established direct-selling industry and was named one of Utah Valley's "Startups to Watch" in 2010. At the time, the company employed approximately 14 people and promoted an ambitious international expansion strategy.
