Original Npros business profile for MiA Bath and Body, preserved below for archival purposes:
MiA Bath & Body was a Utah-based direct-selling and home-party company launched around 2011 under the leadership of Joe Appleton, who served as CEO, and Stephanie Appleton. The company built its business around an interactive product concept that allowed customers to create their own custom fragrances by blending scents and essential oils, then adding the resulting fragrance to bath, body, and home products. In 2013, MiA Bath & Body raised approximately $675,000 in seed financing, with company records at the time listing its headquarters in South Jordan, Utah.
The product line included spa-style bath and body products that could be personalized with a customer's choice of scent, color, and product name. Consultants hosted home parties where guests created fragrance combinations and applied them to products such as lotions, body washes, scrubs, sprays, and other personal-care items. The company promoted its formulations as free of parabens and sodium lauryl sulfate and emphasized ingredients including avocado oil, coconut oil, and shea butter.
MiA Bath & Body operated through independent consultants who sold products at parties and online while also having the opportunity to build sales organizations. The company's "MiA Success Plan" provided compensation from personal sales as well as the activity of consultants within a representative's team and organization. By the middle of the decade, the company had developed a sizable field organization; a former company marketing executive reported overseeing sales training for more than 800 field associates and helping grow the distributor base substantially before the brand was acquired in 2015.
The MiA Bath & Body business subsequently disappeared from the direct-selling market. Its federal trademark application, filed in June 2013, was abandoned on April 22, 2014, after the company failed to respond to a USPTO action. The original MiABathAndBody.com website no longer operates as the company's direct-sales site; the domain was newly registered again in June 2026 and is now being used for unrelated content.
