MonaVie Acai Berry

The MonaVie Acai Berry (pronounced ( ah-sigh-EE ) grows in the Amazon Rainforest of Brazil on the Acai Palm tree. The berry is smaller than a grape in size, dark purple in color, and the small amount of pulp it offers it outweighed by seed. The seed, comprising almost 90% of the berry, is inedible; though the pulp is said to taste like berry with a light chocolate undertone.

Because the Acai is so perishable, spoiling within 24 hours of being harvested, the pulp is usually dehydrated into a powder and then freeze dried. It is this powder that is used in MonaVie and other supplements as well. The MonaVie Acai Berry, in this form, maintains all of the nutritional value found in the fresh fruit, simply in a more concentrated form.

Some of the beneficial nutrients in the Acai can help increase energy, stamina and libido; promote healthy sleep, glowing skin and hair; support the immune system and maintain the healthy function of organs and bodily systems; act as a powerful anti-inflammatory helping to reduce soreness and pain; and revitalize body and mind.

Acai berry is being heralded as a super-food due to its ability to attack, prevent and diminish the harmful effects of free radicals on the cells of the body. Many of the body’s diseases, including cardiovascular disease and cancer, have been attributed to the damage caused by free radicals on cell membranes. The Acai berry has one of the highest levels of antioxidant of any fruit in the world; with twice that of its closest competitor, the blueberry.
