NEXX was a Las Vegas-based network-marketing company launched in 2002 to sell telecommunications and security services to residential customers and small businesses. The company operated from 3291 North Buffalo Drive in Las Vegas and joined the Direct Selling Association in April 2004. Its management team included President Chris Carton, Vice President of Product Development Rodney Larson and Vice President of Sales Dean Tognoni.

The company's principal offerings included wireless home and small-business security systems, alarm-monitoring services and telecommunications products. NEXX promoted the security systems as a lower-cost alternative to conventional wired installations, with monitoring services providing recurring monthly customer accounts. Independent representatives marketed the services directly to consumers and business owners rather than through retail stores.

NEXX used a multilevel compensation structure under which representatives could earn commissions from personally acquired customers and additional compensation based on qualifying sales and customer accounts generated by representatives in their organizations. The recurring charges associated with telephone and security-monitoring services were promoted as a source of residual commission income.
