Quixtar Scam

The Quixtar scam is a term that has been employed to describe the Amway related company's practice of teaching distributors to push the motivational products and tapes because these items are more expensive than the actual products.

In a Dateline hidden camera investigation of this Quixtar scam, an entire stadium of people were shown shouting as though in a trance. The statistical truth of the matter is that less than 1% of Quixtar distributors ever break even; nevermind make a profit.

The term scam has been applied because a legitimate business opportunity would not be concerned with selling motivational products, or enrolling new distributors, but rather with the selling of the products themselves.
