Spa Girl Parties, Inc. was a home-party direct-sales company founded by Di Ana Ford around 2004. Ford created the business to combine spa-style pampering products with a flexible sales opportunity aimed primarily at women. The company scheduled its formal national launch for August 2005, although consultants had already begun holding parties before then. By June 2005, Spa Girl Parties reported more than 30 founding consultants in 15 states and said its 100th home party had been held on March 20, 2005. Its product line included skincare and facial products, bath oils and soaks, body scrubs, manicure and pedicure products, candles, relaxation gifts and packaged spa-at-home kits.

Independent Spa Consultants sold the products through "Girls Night In" home-shopping events, catalog orders and personalized consultant websites. Consultants earned commissions on their retail sales, and contemporary accounts described startup costs of less than $100, no required product inventory and an ongoing monthly fee. The company also offered service-oriented spa parties in which a host paid approximately $20 per guest for hand, foot and facial treatments without a required sales presentation.
