In February 2003 Tahitian Noni International filed a lawsuit in Provo, Utah against Xango LLC and several of its top executives,alleging that XanGo and its executives stole Tahitian Noni International's concept for a mangosteen-based beverage while they were employed by Tahitian Noni.
XanGo LLC filed a countersuit and the two companies eventually settled out of court. A joint statement by XanGo and Tahitian Noni said that the companies had "agreed to resolve their disputes and the litigation between them and their founders" but the particulars of the settlement were not disclosed.
