Mr. Kenchel is no stranger to success. He is also no stranger to the pitfalls thereof. Having been associated with great wealth at times in his life, The Debt Elimination Plan grew out of the personal economic disaster that came from trying to keep up with the "proverbial" Jones.
To quote Jerry's book Life-What A Ride,
"I made terrible and stupid mistakes. I was trying to impress everyone, but most of all I was trying to impress myself. I had an extremely negative self-image, and I thought that money would make me be someone I actually believed that all consuming lie and messed my life up big time.If fact, so big that I went to the top of a 40 story building in downtown Dallas one pitch black misty night with every intension of jumping from a window. But as I pushed on the glass to make sure I would go through and not bounce off, I saw the pavment below along with the face of my son. I thought "Kenchel - You Fool""
It was at that moment that Jerry Kenchel began to really live. He began to consistently confront the things that were controlling. His honesty about all of his failures and how he overcame them is educational, inspiring, and refreshing. People relate to his struggles, cheer his victories and the result has been hope for those who here his message.
Jerry's professional background includes numerous successful entrepreneurial endeavors, from founding a home video delivery franchise company called Cinema Express to helping launch a the multi-million dollar telecommunications company Excel Communications.
