Warm Spirit in the News

Nadine Thompson turns to her roots for a share of the market

As long as customers continue to associate good feelings--wholesomeness--comfort and soothing with Clackamas, Oregon-based, Warm Spirit Inc., Nadine A. Thompson, president and co-founder, believes that her 25-employee direct sales marketing company has a good shot at reaching its goal of $1 million in sales for 2001.

Incorporated in 1997 by Thompson and Daniel Wolf, the company's chairman, Warm Spirit has found a niche in the herbal-based health and beauty products market for black women. Selling through its catalogs, and 400 independent consultants, Warm Spirit markets 58 products that include body butters, shampoos, vitamins, aromatherapy pillows, and homeopathic and herbal remedies. Sales for 2000 were $350,000, and Thompson says Warm Spirit will reach its $1 million target this year by increasing the size of its sales force, its presence on the Website (www.warmspirit.com) along with placing the products in various spas and salons.
