Quixtar Takes Top Rank in Top 500 Guide

Quixtar Independent Business Owners (IBOs) propelled the company once again to its ranking as the top online retailer in the Health & Beauty (H&B) category and 20th overall based on web sales in Internet Retailer's annual Top 500 Guide to the web.

Grand Rapids, MI (PRWEB) June 5, 2006 -- Quixtar Independent Business Owners (IBOs) propelled the company once again to its ranking as the top online retailer in the Health & Beauty (H&B) category and 20th overall based on web sales in Internet Retailer's annual Top 500 Guide to the web.

Internet Retailer's Top 500 guide ranks America's largest retail websites based on 2005 sales. According to the publication, online sales topped $109 billion in 2005, a 25% increase over 2004 sales. Quixtar had $751 million in online sales last year, out of $1.058 billion in total sales.

"To be ranked the #1 online Health and Beauty retailer for the third year in a row is a tremendous compliment to the Independent Business Owners across the U.S. and Canada who drive the sales at NUTRILITEŽ and ARTISTRYŽ brands, among others, we look forward to continued growth in web sales."

Payne also noted that the Quixtar business model is well-suited for the future of web sales. "More and more companies are looking for ways to engage in word-of-mouth, or viral, marketing," says Payne. "The Quixtar business model has always been about word of mouth. Quixtar IBOs work very hard to share this business opportunity and the products and services it offers with others. Their success is evident not just in the sales numbers they generate for Quixtar, but in the more than $1.7 billion in bonuses and incentives they've earned since we launched in 1999."
