USANA Commits To DSA Code Of Ethics Communication Initiative

July 23, 2013 -- USANA Health Sciences Inc., a global nutritional supplements company, has been accepted as one of 52 dedicated Direct Selling Association member companies to participate in the 2013 DSA Code of Ethics Communication Initiative. While participation in the program is optional for any DSA member company, doing so accentuates USANA's commitment to the Code of Ethics. This is the fourth consecutive year USANA has been recognized by the DSA for this award.

"The direct-selling business model is often misunderstood, which is why USANA works tirelessly to distinguish itself as an ethical and transparent company," said USANA Vice President of Ethics and Market Expansion Dan Whitney. "Because USANA is publicly traded, it's important to us that we demonstrate our commitment to the highest level of ethics in our financial reporting, scientific research and in they way our employees are treated. Being accepted to this initiative is a testament of USANA's commitment to ethical business practices and consumer service."

Created in 2008, the initiative recognizes member companies that go above and beyond in their efforts to promote awareness of the code by fulfilling the necessary criteria and adhering to ethical business practices within direct sales.

"USANA is proud to be among the industry giants being recognized for participation in this important initiative," said Kevin Guest, USANA president of the Americas, Europe and South Pacific. "Receiving this recognition demonstrates that USANA is one of the elite leaders in its commitment to ethics and integrity, and that we have set the tone of excellence within the industry."

Among other things, the DSA Code of Ethics ensures that member companies will not make any statements or promises that may mislead either consumers or prospective sales people. The association recognizes that pyramid schemes are illegal, and companies operating such structures are not permitted to be members of the DSA.
