Herbalife Aims To Establish Self Manufacturing Facility
Herbalife is currently present in 14 major cities in India, and plans to enter Rajasthan, Orissa, Madhya Pradesh and Kerala to market its line of protein powder shakes, herbal tablets, multi-vitamins and skin care products.
"Besides expanding our presence we would be adding 10 new products to our portfolio soon in both inner nutrition (protein shakes) and outer nutrition (personal care) segments. In personal care category we could launch shampoos, body wash and creams targeted at the mass market. Currently our skin care range is limited to cleansers, toners, masks and eye care." said , head of Herbalife India. According to Ajay Khanna, Herbalife is currently mapping out a series of locations in search of a manufacturing base, which should be operational within the next two years.
Herbalife boasts a net worth of $2.32 billion and remains present in over 70 countries supported by a network that consists of over 2 million independent distributors. "India has been a significant contributor to the overall success of Herbalife and has always been a key market for us." said Bill Rahn, MD (Asia Pacific), Herbalife.
